Sandra Spencer’s love for sewing and fashion is in her genes. Her mother sewed for her 9 children and her home. While attending high school in West Virginia, Sandra’s home economics teacher helped further her hone her skills with needle and thread.

In 1995, after working as a banker for 16 years. Sandra entered the alteration business by working at a premier Knoxville bridal salon. After 5 years of intense scheduling and many happy customers, she left to work as an office manager for a retirement investment firm. When their Knoxville office closed, she reentered the bridal industry doing alterations and found her passion.

Sandra worked at Wedding Wonderland in Knoxville for 4 years, the previous owner, Martha Carrington suggested she take the alterations from her business and start her own – thus Sandra G’s Alterations was born.

Since 2004, Sandra has strived to make Sandra G’s, “the place to go” for specialized and personal fits for each client.

Although wedding and formal attire are her specialties, partnered with her Operations Manager, Shirley Herbert, the shop has expanded its services to include- suits for men and women, ready–to–wear, home decor, wedding accessories, and wedding consulting. Sandra and her staff have the expertise and skills you need to ensure you always look your best.

Sandra and her support team can alter your gown to emphasize your attributes and/or minimize your problem areas. Standing, sitting or walking, our skills help you always look and feel great.

We are not your typical alteration shop. 

Our shop is warm, comfortable and inviting; and when you enter the door you know that we focus on providing exceptional customer service. Customer satisfaction is very important to us. We continuously seek our client’s feedback.
